I bet wifey is happy about that, lol

macksimus created a blog entry Mack's Polo project:...

I know airkewld is primarily about - well, figure it out – but I’m sure I’m not alone in my appreciation of the watercooled scene as well. I’ve had a few water pumpers as dailies/ and parts haulers but I always had a hankering for a watercooled toy as my aircooled projects are all way off completion.

About a year ago, I picked up a cheap mk2 polo hatchback. I don’t think it was sold in the states, but looks like this:

Stock polo

I got it mainly to teach a couple of my friends some welding and bodywork skills without having to let them loose on my split bus. Whilst tooling around in it, I realised what a fun, simple little car it was to play with. Whilst my original intention was to make this a shoestring resto and upgrade, the seeds were now sown to take the humble “breadvan” down a more kustom route.

I joined a few forums and began collecting parts off the GT and G40 (supercharged) models. Then a polo hatch was featured in Fast Car magazine
magazine cover

www.fastcar.co.uk/
which gave me even more inspiration and a shopping list running into hundreds of pounds…

And so it began.

I really like everything I bought from you. I thought everything went together very well. But your stuff really is great, I really love how the pieces are cut and they make my pan look awesome. I can't wait to get the body done to see it laying on the ground.

sounds good guys! i started the front install but taking a bit more fabricating than i was expecting. i think i can get the front a bit lower if i modify the strut mount extenders that came with my original package you sold last year. So once i get those modified i will start adding pics with some descriptions cuz looks like i gathered some interest on the forum so def want to help SB friends! thanks.

All of the parts I have got from Airkewld have been great! As well as the tech support you have provided over the phone. The times that I have called about anything you always take the time to listen to me and understand what I am trying to do, and then provide the answers that I need to keep going. I am looking forward to working more with you of future builds.

Thanks -Jacob

The shocks really made a huge difference in the handling of my VW bug. Now I just need to add some rear shocks and disk brakes all the way around and it will be the total package.
Thanks

Create a folder here airkewld.com/index.php?option=com_community&view=profile&userid=1190&Itemid=49 and call them front super install pics and I will reference them with a link. Maybe we can even write an article here airkewld.com/the-garage/custom-vw-blogs on the install. I hook brothers up when they do that.

scOOtn created a new topic Front beam help in the forums.
I started roughing in the front beam and air ride today and have a few questions.
First, Do I need to purchase torsion arm seals or do the delrin bushing do this for me? If not is this space alright?
[img/C:\Documents and Settings\Troy\Desktop\PicturesDroid\Beetle\bushing space.jpg]

Second, what do I have to do to make the front shock fit the the lower torsion arm. The bolt does not pass through the shock at all to catch a nut?
