If you are building a cruiser, small engine application, the
Freeway Flyer transaxle is perfect for your application. 3.88 Ring and
Pinion and an overdrive 4th, also known as an 089. Stock rebuilt
transaxle, ready for your cruiser to enjoy the open road.
If you are building a Performance application, you get the
Performance Built Transaxle. Come with the same Ring and Pinion along
with the overdrive 4th, but comes with welded gears, steel shift forks,
super diff and heavy duty side plate. This set up works well for most
whom are building a peppy car with stroked motor application.
Your cruiser will not need the upgraded transaxle and your performance
build will need MORE than the cruiser transaxle, so do not base your
decision on cost, base it on experience.
Also:If you are looking for an exact gear ratio, for a Subaru conversion, we are not the vendor for you. If you are looking for the experience in the perfect transaxle application for a set of wheels to fit, low RPM's and enjoyable shifting experience, check out the Transaxle options below.
a PRO's Take | Product Advice & Recommendation
"If you are building a cruiser application, I recommend factory rubber transaxle mounts from Wolfsburg West. If you are building a performance based application, go with solid transaxle mounts. Any EMPI retailer should have them for your application or the PRO's will have theirs out by Black Friday."
