“Precision assembled, PRO-verified, and built to clear your kit car body — without guesswork.”
The Front Beam Built for Link Pin Kit Cars
Meyers Manx, Manx-style clones, and nearly every kit car built on a 1949–1965 Link Pin VW chassis share the same problem: the body was molded tight around the stock shock towers. Bolt in an off-the-shelf beam and the towers hit the body.
That’s why the PROs build this version of the Complete PRObuilt Front Axle Beam Assembly with shortened shock towers — giving your kit car body the clearance it needs, right out of the box.
When the PROs say complete, we mean it. This beam arrives fully assembled, aligned, and ready to bolt in — no missing parts, no hunting for components, and no second-guessing.
Every PRObuilt Beam is reviewed by a PRO for correctness before it ships — including shock tower clearance, narrowing, brakes, wheels, and suspension compatibility.
If anything needs clarification, we’ll contact you before proceeding.
That’s how we eliminate mistakes before they ever happen.
Shortened Shock Towers — Why It Matters
Kit car bodies weren’t designed around aftermarket suspension. They were laid up over a stock pan, hugging the original shock towers with almost no room to spare. The result: body contact, cracked fiberglass, and a beam that simply won’t sit right.
Instead of asking you to cut or reshape your body, we shorten the shock towers on the beam itself to create proper clearance. Your body stays untouched, and your beam fits the way it should.
Fits Link Pin–based kit cars, including:
- Meyers Manx
- Manx-style clones and dune buggies
- Most kit cars built on a 1949–1965 Link Pin VW chassis
Not sure what your kit car is built on? Note it at checkout and a PRO will confirm fitment before your beam is built.
Why PRObuilt Is Different
Bolt-In & Go
This is a true bolt-in solution. Most installations are completed in under 4 hours with basic hand tools. No cutting, no welding, no fabrication — just clean, efficient progress from start to finish.
Quality You Can Feel
A PRObuilt Beam is the Rolex of Classic VW front suspension systems. Each assembly is built using premium components, OEM-quality parts, stainless steel hardware, and durable finishes designed to last the life of the vehicle.
The result is immediate — tighter steering, improved ride quality, and a refined driving experience you can feel right away.
World-Class Ride Quality
Proper geometry matters. With 7.5 inches of usable suspension travel, this beam delivers a smooth, controlled ride on the street, the trail, or the sand.
No binding. No harshness. Just confidence.
Narrowed Correctly — Not Guesswork
Wheel fitment is one of the most misunderstood — and most expensive — mistakes in a kit car build.
Too narrow and you compromise suspension geometry.
Not narrow enough and you fight tire rub forever.
That’s why PRObuilt Beams are available in stock width, 2", 3", and 4" narrowed configurations — without forcing you to guess which one is right.
A PRO reviews your body, wheel, tire, brake, and suspension setup before your beam is finalized to determine the correct narrowing for your build.
This is how we eliminate clearance issues, tire rub, and costly do-overs — while still giving you the exact fit your kit car needs.
Have a specific narrowing in mind? You can note it during checkout, and a PRO will confirm it with you before the beam is built.

PRO’s Recommendations
Stop Better:
Pair your PRObuilt Beam with a Disc Brake Kit designed for 1949–1965 Link Pin applications to dramatically improve stopping power and safety.
Tighten Steering Feel:
While the beam is out, upgrading worn steering components or the steering coupler is an easy way to restore precise steering feel.
Fitment & FAQs
Will this beam fit my kit car?
If your kit car is built on a 1949–1965 Link Pin VW chassis — including the Meyers Manx and Manx-style clones — this beam is designed for it. If you’re unsure what your car is built on, note it at checkout and a PRO will confirm before we build.
Why are the shock towers shortened?
Kit car bodies are molded tightly around the stock shock towers. Shortening the towers on the beam gives the body proper clearance, so you don’t have to cut or modify your body to make the beam fit.
Do I need to modify my vehicle to install this beam?
No. The clearance work is done on the beam before it ships. This is a true bolt-in solution for Link Pin–based kit cars — no body modifications are required.
Do I need to send in a core?
No core is required. However, if you return usable arms, spindles, and steering box components (packed in a 5-gallon bucket), a $150 core rebate will be issued once received.
Will I need anything else?
No additional components are required for installation.
Lifetime Support
Airkewld provides tech support for as long as you own the vehicle.
If the vehicle changes ownership, tech support plans are available for the next owner.
The Bottom Line
This isn’t just a beam — it’s a PRO-verified suspension solution built specifically for Link Pin kit cars, with shortened shock towers for proper body clearance, correct wheel fitment, and the ride your build deserves.
If you want it done once, correctly, this is the beam.
