⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - "Fully assembled, PRO-verified, and engineered to deliver a smooth, predictable air ride experience with zero guesswork."
The Right Way to Add Air Ride to a Ball Joint Volkswagen
The best way to add air ride to a 1966–1977 Classic VW Beetle or Ghia is with a Stage 2 PRObuilt Air Ride Front Axle Beam Assembly.
When the PROs say complete, they mean it.
This beam arrives fully assembled, aligned, and bolt-in ready, eliminating the confusion and compatibility issues that come from piecing together an air ride setup.
Every PRObuilt Air Ride Beam is reviewed by a PRO for correctness before it ships — including narrowing, air ride components, brakes, wheels, and suspension fitment.
If anything needs clarification, we’ll contact you before proceeding.
That’s how air ride stays smooth, safe, and reliable.
Why Stage 2 PRObuilt Is Different
Bolt-In & Go
This is a true bolt-in solution. Most installations are completed in under 4 hours with basic hand tools.
No cutting.
No welding.
No fabrication.
Just remove the old beam and bolt this one in.
Premium Quality You Can Feel
PRObuilt represents the highest level of refinement we offer.
Each Stage 2 beam is built using premium components, German-made parts where it matters, satin black powder coating, and stainless steel hardware throughout—designed to last the life of the vehicle.
You’ll feel the difference immediately in ride quality, steering response, and overall confidence.
World-Class Air Ride Performance
Equipped with air ride and engineered for correct ball joint geometry, this beam delivers 7.5 inches of usable suspension travel.
Aired up for driving or aired out at a show, the ride remains smooth, controlled, and predictable—without binding or harshness.
Ready to Ship, Ready to Roll
PRObuilt Air Ride Beams ship free to freight terminals in the lower 48 states.
Residential or commercial delivery is available at competitive rates, including lift gate and pallet jack service when needed.
Why PRObuilt?
PRObuilt beams represent the most complete and refined assemblies we build.
They feature premium finishes, upgraded materials, and stainless hardware, then receive a final PRO review for correctness before shipping.

PRO’s Recommendations
What Beam Width Should I Choose?
For most air ride applications, the PROs recommend a 4-inch narrowed beam.
This provides the best balance of wheel clearance, suspension travel, and clean fender fitment for most wheel and tire combinations.
Considering Disc Brakes?
This beam ships with drum spindles, but many customers choose to upgrade.
Pairing your Stage 2 PRObuilt Air Ride Beam with one of our Disc Brake Kits (1966–1968 or 1969–1977) improves stopping power and adds confidence—especially on lowered or air-suspended cars.
Want them installed?
Select the Disc Brake Installation (Labor Only) option and the PROs will handle it before shipping.
Optional Add-Ons (Not Required)
The beam is complete and ready to install as-is.
These options are offered for convenience.
Optional Install Kit
Includes new beam bolts and upper/lower body pads—recommended for a faster, cleaner installation.
Optional Disc Brake Installation — PRO Installed (Labor Only)
Select this option if you plan to add one of our disc brake kits and want the PROs to install it on your beam before it ships.
Disc brake kit sold separately.
A PRO will confirm the correct kit before finalizing your order.
Fitment & FAQs
Do I need to modify my vehicle’s body to install this beam?
No. This is a true bolt-in solution for 1966–1977 Ball Joint vehicles. No cutting or welding required.
How is the beam narrowed by 4 inches?
We strategically use the outer ends of the tubes and gusset outward to achieve the narrowing while maintaining strength and proper geometry. This method preserves structural integrity and wheel clearance.
Do I need to send in a core?
No core is required.
If you return usable arms, spindles, and steering box components (packed in a 5-gallon bucket), a $200 core rebate will be issued once received.
Will I need anything in addition to this assembly?
Yes.
To control ride height from inside the vehicle, you’ll need an air management system:
Tech Support (Important)
Airkewld provides full tech support for our PRObuilt Air Ride Beams when used with our AMK air management systems.
If you choose to use a different air management system, we cannot troubleshoot those components, as we are not familiar with their operation.
Tech support is provided for as long as you own the vehicle.
If the vehicle is sold, tech support plans are available for the next owner.
The Bottom Line
This isn’t just an air ride beam—it’s a PRO-verified, fully engineered suspension solution designed to deliver a smooth, reliable air ride experience with factory-level fitment.
If you want air ride done once, correctly, and without guesswork, this is the beam.
