The Complete Chassis Build is different from anything else we sell. With our PRObuilt drivetrain packages, we’re building a deliverable from the ground up — the package starts as parts on a shelf and leaves the shop as a finished product we own until you pay for it. A Chassis Build is the opposite. Your chassis is your property the moment it lands at our door, and it stays your property the entire time it’s here. We are providing labor, expertise, and parts that get installed into a vehicle you own.
That distinction matters because of one specific situation we’ve lived through more than once: a customer ships their stripped chassis to us, we put it on the frame jig, and we discover that somewhere in its history the chassis was hit hard enough to be bent, twisted, or otherwise unsafe to build on. We didn’t cause that condition. We just discovered it. And by the time we discovered it, real labor had already been performed on the customer’s chassis — disassembly, cleanup, inspection, documentation — and real parts had been ordered.
For that reason, the Complete Chassis Build is a paid-in-full, non-refundable work order. We will be honest, transparent, and deeply experienced through every step. We will photograph and document the chassis at intake. We will tell you what we find, in writing, with photos. If we find a problem, we’ll lay out your options — repair where possible, replace the chassis at additional cost, or terminate the work order — and we’ll let you make the call. What we won’t do is refund money already spent on labor performed and parts purchased.
We also handle logistics differently than the drivetrain package. Because the chassis is your property — not something we built and are delivering to you — inbound and outbound shipping are not included. You can deliver and pick up the chassis yourself at our Goodyear, AZ shop, or we can quote and arrange logistics on your behalf for a fee. Either is fine. We just want it spelled out up front.
The full terms below explain how all of this works.
1. What This Agreement Covers
These Terms & Conditions apply to every order of the Complete Chassis Build (a labor-and-parts service performed on the Customer’s own Classic VW Type 1 Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Thing, Kit Car, or compatible chassis) offered by Airkewld, Inc. (“Airkewld,” “we,” “us”). The customer placing the order is referred to as “you” or the “Customer.”
A Complete Chassis Build is a service performed on a chassis the Customer owns and supplies. The service includes some or all of the following, depending on the configuration ordered: chassis disassembly, cleanup, frame-jig inspection and squaring, structural repairs (where feasible), pan reinforcement, suspension and steering integration, brake-system integration, fuel and electrical routing as applicable, primer/paint/coating prep, reassembly, and final QC.
The specific scope of work for each Customer’s order is documented in the order confirmation and any subsequent change orders.
