This tie rod end is for the left side inner, meaning the connection to the pitman drop arm on the steering box on a Left Hand Drive VW. The correct one for this application would have a kink in it to have proper steering experience as well as proper Ackerman. It would have a 19mm nut on it. It fits all 1969-1977 Beetle, Ghia, and Thing. If you have a 17mm nut, you have a 1949-1968 tie rod end on your vehicle. Premium means that we find manufacturers that meet or exceed our expectations.
