This tie rod end is for the right side inner, meaning the connection to the pitman drop arm on the steering box on a Left Hand Drive VW that has the steering damper connection integrated into it. It would have a 19mm nut on it. It fits all 1969-1977 Beetle, Ghia, and Thing. If you have a 17mm nut, you have a 1949-1968 tie rod end on your vehicle.
