What Is PRObuilt?

Genuine OEM Housings. New German Wear Parts. Fully Powder Coated.

Every PRObuilt beam is our new-construction platform — 7.5" adjusters, Delrin bushings, a complete steering system. The control arms, steering box, pitman arm, and steering box clamp are genuine OEM VW parts, quality-checked and reused — the steering box internals are NOS VW with new bearings and seals. The ball joints, king pins, link pins, and torsion leaves are new German-made hardware, not take-off — with stainless teel hardware.

What sets PRObuilt apart is the finish: every beam is fully powder coated before it ships, jig-built and assembled spindle to spindle, and ready to bolt in the same day — no rust prevention, no finishing work, nothing left for you to do.

The geometry is right. The engagement is right. It's finished, and it's ready.

Three Ways To Build It

Choose Your Configuration

All three configurations below share the same PRObuilt hardware, finish, and process — the difference is ride height and width, not quality.

Standard Adjustable

Our core PRObuilt beam — 7.5" adjustable, narrows up to 4" without body mods, shocks included. Available in three fitment eras: Link Pin (1949–1965), Early Ball Joint (1966–1968), and Late Ball Joint (1969–1977).

Raised / Lifted

Same PRObuilt platform and finish, built with Type 181 Thing components that lift it 3.5" higher — complete, spindle to spindle, ready to bolt in.

6" Narrowed Shockless

Narrowed 6" for wheel and tire clearance beyond the standard beam's adjustable range. PRObuilt Drop Spindles are standard on every Shockless beam. Available in Link Pin or Ball Joint.

The PRObuilt Process

Genuine OEM Housings. New German Wear Parts.

  • Control arms — genuine OEM VW hardware, quality-checked and precision-fit to the Delrin bushings for a true zero-play mount.
  • Ball joints, king pins & link pins — new German-made hardware, pressed or fit and broken in.
  • Torsion leaves — new, precision-dimpled for perfect engagement.
  • Steering — the complete system is included: tie rods, damper, and steering box (NOS internals with new bearings & seals), pitman arm, and steering box clamp — all set up with ZERO play.
  • Shocks — included standard on every configuration except 6" Narrowed Shockless, which ships without shocks by design.
  • Finish — fully powder coated, jig-built and assembled spindle to spindle. Grease zerks installed, torqued correctly, and greased.

Fully Powder Coated — Ready To Bolt On

PRObuilt is the finish tier — every beam ships fully powder coated, so there's no finishing work between the crate and the car:

  • Fully powder coated — jig-built and assembled to ensure consistent quality
  • Ready to bolt on the same day — no rust prevention, no paint, no finishing work
  • Complete, spindle to spindle — steering, shocks (except Shockless), and hardware installed
  • Crated + free terminal shipping — lower 48 states; great freight rates (not free) to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada & Puerto Rico

Shipping

Freight. Crated. Ready.

Ships freight, fully assembled, torqued, and greased — crated, with free terminal shipping included for the lower 48 states. Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and Puerto Rico ship at our best freight rates — just not free. It is fully boxed to cover the beam itself; the crate keeps dirt and debris out in transit. It arrives ready to bolt under the car.

FAQ

The Questions We Expect

Are any parts reused or take-off?

The control arms, steering box, pitman arm, and steering box clamp are genuine OEM VW parts, quality-checked and reused — the steering box gets new bearings and seals inside. The ball joints, king pins, link pins, and torsion leaves are new German-made hardware, not take-off — the same hardware used in ECObuilt. PRObuilt's difference is the finish: fully powder coated, ready to bolt on.

Are the ball joints or king pins used?

No — the ball joints, king pins, and link pins in a PRObuilt beam are new German-made hardware, pressed or fit and broken in before it ships.

What about the spindles?

On standard PRObuilt beams, when stock spindles are selected, they're factory VW — quality-checked and reused, the same as every tier we build. The 6" Narrowed Shockless configuration ships with PRObuilt Drop Spindles standard instead.

What's different about the Raised / Lifted beam?

Same PRObuilt hardware, finish, and process as the standard beam — it's simply built with extra ride height for lift-kit applications.

What's the 6" Narrowed Shockless option, and why no shocks?

It's narrowed 6" for wheel and tire clearance beyond the standard beam's adjustable range, with PRObuilt Drop Spindles standard. It ships without shocks so you can run your own shock or coilover setup — available in Link Pin or Ball Joint.

Will it work with your air ride kit?

Yes. The platform is the same new-construction beam our air-ride kits were engineered around — match your beam to the correct kit (Link Pin or Ball Joint front). See the Ball Joint Air Ride Install guide.

Does it include steering?

Yes. Every PRObuilt beam ships with the complete steering system installed and set up with zero play — standard, not an add-on.

How does it ship?

Freight, crated, no boxed cover on the beam itself — assembled, torqued, and greased. Terminal shipping is free for the lower 48 states; Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and Puerto Rico ship at our best freight rates, just not free.
